MoEa is based in Paris but the crew is very eclectic with people coming from Germany, Spain, Portugal, France and Switzerland. 

MoEas are handcrafted in Guimaraes (Portugal) by skilled shoemakers in a committed workshop respecting all European labor standards. They are one of the last bastions of footwear in Europe along with Italy, considering that 95% of sneakers are made in South East Asia.

MoEa choses a local production because 96% of the customers are in the EU, labor standards are strictly controlled and one thing very important for them; MoEa can easily be in contact with each partner and visit the factories.

Frumat® was founded in 2009 in Italy and is active in the transformation of biological industrial residuals from the production of apple juice into new raw materials for the development of innovative products.

INTRODUCING CACTUSSKIN

MoEas Mexican partner, Desserto® produces a highly sustainable plant based and vegan material made from cactus. Over the last 4 years, Desserto has been distinguished by its great softness at touch while offering a great performance for a wide varety of applications and complying with the most rigorous quiality and environmental standards.

With over 40% of the sneaker made up from cactus skin, the robust material looks and feels like leather and is made to last so that you can always put your best eco foot forward. Composition: 40% cactus skin, 32% organic cotton, 28% bioPU

Corn is for long used as biofuel and other uses to replace oil-based materials. When it comes to fashion Viridis® has find a way to produce animal-free and sustainable wearable materials from corn.

The corn is a non-edible American corn imported and transformed in Italy by Viridis®.

Viridis® biobased content is equal to 69%, its corn-derived and FSC viscosecontent makes it the most green product among the synthetic fabrics: 43 % corn polyols, 26 % FSC viscose and 31% normal PU. Composition: 69% corn skin and oil, 31% PU

INTRODUCING GRAPESKIN

VEGEA® has created an innovative material characterized by the high content of vegetal, renewable and recycled raw materials: grape leftovers from winemaking, vegetal oils and natural fibers from agriculture.

VEGEA® works closely with Italian vineyards making the GrapeSkin a 100% Italian material. The name VEG (Vegan) and GEA (Mother Earth) was chosen to identify the next generation of animal alternative materials

The GrapeSkin is made using a high content of vegetal, renewable and recyclable raw materials: grape skins from winemaking, vegetal oils and natural fibres from agriculture. Within 3 years, the grape level has increased from 33% to 55% of the total material. Composition: 55% grape, 22% bio-PU, 23% recycled polyester

INTRODUCING PINEAPPLESKIN

The PineappleSkin is named Piñatex®, a unique material made from waste pineapple leaf fibres by innovating company Ananas Anam.

As a waste-based product that provides work for farming
communities in the Philippines, its ethical and environmental credentials are exceptional.

The pineapple leaves come from collective pineapple farms in the Philippines and they are transformed in to PineappleSkin in Italy.

MoEas pineapple sneakers contain the most amount of fruit with these made up of 72% pineapple leaves. Composition: 72% pineapple leaves, 23% bio-PU, 5% PU
